What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Laborer - Construction position at Aspen Flat Construction?
As a residential construction laborer candidates will use power tools, load and unload jobsite materials and tools, keep the jobsites clean daily, and perform basic carpentry skills. Candidates will need to be able to lift and carry heavy objects repeatedly.
Job tasks include:
- Preparing the site: Cleaning and removing debris, hazards, and other things that might be in the way
- Moving materials: Loading and unloading building materials and equipment
- Building and taking down structures: Setting up and taking down scaffolding, bracing, and other temporary structures
- Digging and compacting: Digging trenches, backfilling holes, and compacting earth
- Operating machinery: Using hand tools like shovels and picks, as well as operating machinery like diggers, concrete mixers, hammers, and drills
- Following instructions: Carrying out construction plans and following instructions from supervisors
- Framing/carpentry:: Framing new construction, building decks, installing windows and doors, roofing, finish carpentry.
