What are the responsibilities and job description for the Resident Director position at Aspen Music Festival?
The Resident Director for the Aspen Music Festival and School (AMFS) works in conjunction with the Office of Student Services to implement housing policies and procedures and create a safe environment in the residence halls. The Director reports to the Assistant Dean of Admissions and Student Life and is responsible for managing the team of three Resident Supervisors (staff members) and eight Resident Assistants (students).
Responsibilities
- Fosters a positive, safe, and inclusive, and professional environment within the Residence Life team and the AMFS residential community
- Designs and oversees all student life activities and programming; communicates pertinent information to Student Services for Soundings weekly newsletter
- Organizes and leads Resident Supervisor / Resident Assistant training in conjunction with the Assistant Dean of Admissions and Student Life
- Oversees housing check-in and check-out processes and the daily operation of the Residence Life Office
- Creates and distributes weekly schedules for Supervisor on Duty rotation, office shifts, day and evening rounds, deliveries, and programming
- Leads weekly Residence Life meetings with Resident Supervisors and the full Residence Life team
- Leads and and participates in periodic workshops and training sessions; meets regularly with the Assistant Dean to discuss pertinent issues
- Manages the Residence Life budget, tracking expenditures and receipts associated to staff meeting and programming expenses
- In consultation with the Assistant Dean of Admissions and Student Life, responds to student emergency and policy enforcement issues; administers disciplinary action to students as necessary
- Oversees daily submissions of FYI reports from Resident Supervisors; submits incident reports
- Supervises facilities maintenance and serves as the primary liaison to campus facilities staff and residence hall staff
- Assists with special projects and administrative duties as assigned, including but not limited to duties relating to the health and safety of the AMFS community

Compensation
14.81 / hour plus housing provided by AMFS (valued at a minimum of $4.91 / hour depending on location.) Overtime $22.22 / hour
