Aspirus Divine Savior Wellness Center in Portage, WI is seeking a Child Care Teacher - Daycare to join our team!
Childcare Teacher Oversees an assigned group of children enrolled with the program ensuring quality care is provided in conjunction with the Center’s education philosophy, policies, and curriculum. The teacher will cultivate a safe learning environment, adhere to state licensing regulations, and arrange activities regarding individual needs of children, including special abilities, handicaps, pace of learning, interests, and cultural/socioeconomic background.
HOURS: Part Time or 0.6 FTE, 48 hours every 2 weeks
Experience/Qualifications
- Successful completion of required Wisconsin DCF 251 childcare courses or have earned a diploma from a post-secondary early childhood training program approved by Wisconsin DCF.
- Must be 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED required.
- Training in First Aid, Adult, Child, and Infant CPR, AED, Shaken Baby Syndrome and SIDS, must be completed within 90 days of hire.
- Associate degree in early childhood or related field preferred
- Completed 240 hours of experience providing direct childcare as a teacher or assistant teacher in a childcare center, kindergarten, or early childhood program approved by Wisconsin DCF.
- Complete 15 hours of additional training in early childhood education as required annually by DCF.
- Current Registry Certificate indicating qualifications for the position.
- Successful completion of DCFS Background Check and Fingerprinting.
- Basic computer skills necessary to gather and enter data related to daily child(ren) needs.
- Possesses good communication skills, both verbal and written, and good listening skills.
- Demonstrated ability to read, write, and remember/follow verbal or written instructions.
- Organized and able to prioritize daily tasks and activities.
