Aspirus Ironwood Hospital in Ironwood, MI is seeking a MANAGER - CENTRAL BILLING OFFICE to join our CENTRAL BILLING OFFICE team!
Performs day-to-day managerial and supervisory duties related to managing Epic customer service and collection teams. Participates with Fiscal Services department on review of contract variances noted for hospital and clinics where claims follow up in performed. Performs day-to-day managerial and supervisory duties related to managing specialty billing, deposit processing, payment posting, technical services, and support staff. Provides analysis and recommendations to the Director of Patient Financial Services.
HOURS: Full-Time or 1.0 FTE, 80 hours every 2 weeks.
Experience/Qualifications
- Knowledge of billing and collection standards and practices normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or other related field.

A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in medical billing required.

A minimum of three (3) years’ supervisory experience required.

Hospital and/or Clinic management experience desired.

Direct experience in a hospital, clinic, or insurance company setting.

Certification as a Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) or Certified Coding Specialist beneficial.

Expected to work extended hours to attend meetings and meet deadlines. Travel to local and regional sites with some overnight travel may be required.
- Possesses good oral and written communication skills.

Aspirus Ironwood Hospital includes a 25-bed critical access hospital, multi-specialty clinic, satellite clinic in Wisconsin, surgical clinic, walk-in clinic and a home health agency. Ironwood's service area covers approximately 30,000 people. The hospital has a 4 bed ICU, 3 bed OB unit, and 4 surgical units. The emergency department is staffed 24/7 with ER physicians, with approximately 12,000 visits annually. The hospital's inpatient census is 10 patients per day. The outpatient clinic has over 50,000 visits annually.
