Position Overview: The Sanitation Manager will oversee all sanitation activities, ensuring the cleanliness and sanitization of equipment, production floors, and general areas. This role involves leading, developing, and coaching the sanitation team to adhere to proper cleaning procedures and compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the sanitation team, providing training and guidance on sanitation practices.
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, HACCAP, GMP, and other regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular sanitation training for new hires and annual refreshers for existing employees.
- Investigate and address sanitation issues that may affect product quality or safety.
- Maintain accurate records of sanitation activities and pest control measures.
- Collaborate with other departments to support new product development and equipment design.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, reporting any shortages or needs.
- Oversee the procurement of cleaning supplies and chemicals while adhering to the sanitation budget.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify areas that require additional cleaning
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, including SQF, FSMA, and GMP.
- Proven leadership skills with experience in team development and conflict management.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
