Associated Students (AS) is a comprehensive campus auxiliary corporation of CSU, Chico serving thousands of students, faculty, staff and community members through myriad student programs, services and business enterprises. AS operates residential and retail dining services, the Bell Memorial Union (BMU), and the Wildcat Recreation Center (WREC). Additionally, the AS offers a wide variety of services and programs such as: CAVE (Community Action Volunteers in Education), the Child Development Lab, Adventure Outings, Operation Programs and Services (OPS), Sustainability and student government.
Associated Students is now hiring for the position of Marketing Student Assistant - Wildcat Recreation Center (WREC). This is a part-time, non-benefited student position that will work no more than 20 hours per week while school is in session. The pay rate is $16.91 per hour. The schedule for this position is based upon department needs and is subject to change at any time. To be eligible for student employment, you must be enrolled at CSU, Chico and maintain at least 6 units (undergraduate student) or 4 units (graduate student) throughout the course of employment.

STUDENT MARKETING ASSISTANT – THE WELL
SUMMARY
Under the direction of the AS Marketing and Design Department (ASMD), this position is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing content marketing strategies and promotional services for the business and service programs of the Associated Students.
This position will work 15-20 hours per week. Applicants interested in this role MUST be available for mandatory training in Chico beginning Monday, August 11. Training will be Monday-Friday August 11-22.
TYPICAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Works with the Marketing team to develop and manage social media promotions for the Associated Students (AS) and the Wildcat Recreation Center (WREC) social media channels. Manages and implements content calendar for social channels and attend events for social media coverage.
• Acts as primary “spokesperson” for social media promotions. Must be comfortable with the idea of being in front of a camera.
• Coordinates promotion of Program’s events and initiatives through development of comprehensive content plans and through the use of social media platforms and other campus platforms, such as: CatsConnect, campus and student announcements, text notifications, updates for AS website, calendar entries, blog posts, and mentions in The Latest.
• Collaborates with the design team to create compelling graphics for marketing campaigns.
• Work with Program area to direct messages and emails in a timely fashion.
• Meet with Program area regularly to discuss content needs throughout the semester.
• Works with ASMD team and Program to determine specific outreach needs, such as tabling, class talks, whiteboard blitzes, if any requested.
• Works with Program leadership team to identify other specific marketing needs for the Program.
• Attends staff meetings as directed.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Experience:
• Majoring in Marketing, Journalism/Public Relations, Communications/New Media, Graphic
Design, Video Production, or any other relevant field preferred.
Education:
• Currently enrolled in 6 units for undergraduate or 4 units for graduate at California State University, Chico required.
