JPosition Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Labor & Delivery Manager (RN) to lead and support our dedicated team of nurses and healthcare professionals in delivering exceptional, patient-centered maternity care. The L&D Manager will oversee daily operations, ensure clinical excellence, promote best practices, and foster a collaborative, supportive environment for both patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and oversight for the Labor & Delivery unit, ensuring high-quality, safe, and compassionate care to expectant mothers and newborns.
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to maintain seamless, coordinated patient care.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and quality initiatives aligned with evidence-based practices and regulatory standards.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff, fostering continuous professional growth and maintaining high morale.
- Monitor staffing levels and adjust assignments based on patient census, acuity, and unit needs.
- Oversee performance improvement initiatives, audits, and patient satisfaction efforts.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal guidelines, including Joint Commission and CMS standards.
- Manage departmental budgets, equipment, and resources efficiently and effectively.
- Act as a role model for clinical excellence, ethical practice, and patient advocacy.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
- Licensure: Current and active Registered Nurse license [State].
- Certifications:
- BLS and ACLS required.
- NRP and STABLE certifications preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years of clinical experience in Labor & Delivery nursing.
- Prior leadership or management experience in a maternal/child health setting strongly preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong clinical knowledge in obstetric and neonatal care.
- Proven leadership and team-building abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment:
- Hospital-based role; 24/7 department. Requires flexibility for occasional off-hours support.
- Occasional physical demands including standing, walking, lifting, and assisting in emergency patient care situations.
