Astrion has an exciting opportunity for an Administrative Assistant for the Tenants Contract, located at the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) Nuclear Weapons Acquisition Division (AFNWC/NDB) at Eglin AFB, FL, supporting the Air Force Division.
The U.S. Air Force is developing a new Long-Range Stand-Off (LRSO) nuclear missile. The service plans to field the LRSO by 2030 to replace the current, General Dynamics (now Raytheon) AGM-129A Advanced Cruise Missile (ACM) that originally entered service in 1991. In May 2021, the Air Force awarded an Engineering and Manufacturing Design (EMD) contract to Raytheon Missiles and Defense, Tucson, Arizona. The Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) Nuclear Weapons Acquisition Division (AFNWC/NDB), resident at Eglin AFB, Florida, is the System Program Office (SPO) responsible for the acquisition.

JOB STATUS: Full Time
TRAVEL: Yes (Approximately 4 trips per year)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree, or additional years of qualifying experience
- A minimum of 3-10 years of work experience, or additional years’ experience for degree substitution
- An active Secret security clearance is required for consideration, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, expert attention-to-detail & highly organized
- Knowledge of Air Force instructions and operations
- Professional experience in administrative duties & office organization
- Prefer prior Air Force experience and/or experience in an acquisition program office
- Prefer prior administrative experience, working with highly technical information
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain appointment calendars and conference room schedules
- Schedule meetings and conferences including those involving staff from outside organizations
- Advise and assist in preparing and finalizing a wide variety of recurring and nonrecurring correspondence, reports, and other documents, determining and modifying format, content and frequency of requirements from information obtained from staff, files and other sources
- Answer telephones, forwarding messages, and providing responses to routine queries
- Serve as the organization’s travel clerk, using Defense Travel System (DTS) functions on behalf of traveler IAW the Defense Travel Administrator’s Manual
- Assist with coordination, consolidation, analyses, distribution and monitor action items, suspenses and responses for assigned organization level
- Provide inputs and recommendations regarding administrative and office management processes and procedures
- Assist with preparation and updates to program office file management documents
- Prepare agendas, reports and briefings for staff meetings
- Assist with management of organizational workflows
