Title: IT Laboratory Support
Location: Fully Onsite, South San Francisco, CA
Pay Rate: $30–33/hr
Contract Duration: 6 months (Potential for extension)
Responsibilities:
Lab Systems Support:
- Provide onsite IT support for lab equipment (e.g., NestSeq, QXManager, HPLCs, SpectraMax, microscopes) across Windows, Linux, and macOS platforms.
- Install, configure, validate, and maintain lab software, hardware, and backups.
- Troubleshoot hardware/software issues to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with researchers to deliver tailored IT solutions.
- Maintain documentation for system configurations and troubleshooting.
- Perform equipment maintenance, calibration, and system health checks.
- Support data management systems and ensure data integrity through backup and recovery protocols.
- Assist with asset management and train lab personnel on IT procedures and workstation use.
- Adhere to lab safety protocols; must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Mac Support:
- Provide end-to-end support for macOS systems and applications.
- Manage system setup, performance tuning, and user access controls.
- Support common applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, scientific tools).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Information Systems, or related field.
- Experience with Windows/macOS; lab system familiarity (e.g., HPLC, ddPCR, Sartorius) is a plus.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
