The At Bat Summer Program is seeking a motivated ELA Team Lead to oversee a team of ELA Teachers (Grades 1–8) and ensure the smooth operation of the ELA curriculum delivery. The Team Lead will collaborate with other program staff to maintain consistency, support teachers, and ensure student success in literacy development. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a passion for supporting both students and educators.
Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support a team of ELA teachers in delivering instruction for grades 1–8 using the provided curriculum.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for ELA teachers, providing guidance, support, and resources as needed.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of both teachers and students, offering feedback and strategies to address challenges.
- Facilitate regular team meetings to align teaching strategies, share best practices, and address concerns.
- Ensure that all ELA teachers maintain classroom management and create a positive, inclusive environment for students.
- Assist in the development of assessments and ensure alignment with the curriculum.
- Coordinate with program staff and program leadership to ensure that program goals are met.
- Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress, when necessary.
- Participate in planning, training sessions, and staff development activities as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, English, or a related field required; Master’s preferred.
- Valid teaching certification in ELA or elementary/middle grades education.
- Proven experience teaching ELA to students in grades 1–8.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to implement and adapt the provided curriculum while addressing the diverse needs of students.
- Experience in mentoring or coaching teachers is a plus.
Schedule & Compensation:
- Program runs from June 16, 2025, to August 1, 2025; hours are 9 am to 2 pm every Monday through Friday (except holidays).
- Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications.
