Atalco Gramercy Operations is the leading producer of Alumina in the United States. Our Gramercy refinery produces 1.2 million tons a year of smelter grade alumina (SGA) for the production of aluminum as well as chemical grade alumina (CGA) which is used in a wide array of industrial applications.
Job Summary/Objective
Responsible for applying business and human resources knowledge. Supports departments by implementing human resources programs.
Requirements:
Essential Functions
- Completes special projects by clarifying project objective; setting timetables and schedules; conducting research; developing and organizing information; fulfilling
- Responsible for recruitment of salaried and hourly personnel.
- Creates job descriptions and classifies positions under FLSA standards.
- Supports the HR department in implementing programs to help improve the employee experience and increase engagement
- Back up Labor Relation Manager on collective bargaining agreement [CBA].
- Provides support to HR team
- Engages and participates in employee events sponsored by the Company.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications. Kronos knowledge a plus.
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Work Authorization
