Radar Electronics Technical Specialist
ATEC is looking for an Electronics Technical Specialist to support the Air Surveillance Radar 9 (ASR-9) and Service Life Extension Program (SLEP).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Troubleshoot, analyze and determine operational issues and recommend solutions.
- Design, develop, and test modern solutions to incorporate into existing systems and equipment.
- Generate installation and test procedures for system modification and verification.
- Perform all aspects of system verification, including all phases of the testing process.
- Develop and execute test plan and procedures in an operational environment.
- Direct and coordinate with outside vendors to manufacture prototypes and production units including development of Manufacturing Specifications.
- Research new technologies that would be integrated in the ASR-9.
- Providing 2nd level engineering support to ASR-9 modifications installed in the field to include onsite or over the phone.
- Provide 2nd level maintenance and engineering for data management as well as for operational subsystems of the ASR-9.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provide authoritative leadership and technical advice to other members of the team.
- Participate and lead technical interchange meetings.
- Conduct or participate in formal and informal reviews at predetermined points throughout the development life cycle.
- Provide technical guidance and participation in Process Improvement.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of test equipment including oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, logic analyzer
- Proficiency in analysis of existing Requirements, Testing and Compliance Procedures/Documents.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Travel throughout the country to different ASR-9 Radar sites to support local technicians in maintaining and modifying equipment. In this position, travel is not a priority however availability with a short notice to do so, is required.
SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:
- US Citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US
- Applicants selected will be subject to a government investigation
- Has been living in the US for at least the past 3 years
EDUCATION/YEARS of EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED required and ten (10) years of related experience including at least five (5) years of NAS experience.
- An Associate's Degree in a related field will be accepted in lieu of two (2) years of experience.
- A Bachelor's Degree in a related field will be accepted in lieu of four (4) years of experience.
PAY RANGE:
