Medical Telemetry Manager

Position Summary
The Medical Telemetry Manager plays a critical role in leading the daily operations of a 25-bed, high-acuity telemetry/PCU unit. This leader ensures high-quality, patient-centered care by overseeing clinical practices, managing staffing and operations, and driving initiatives that promote safety, quality, and a superior patient experience. This role also includes the oversight of monitor techs, RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and charge nurses.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily unit operations and staff scheduling to meet patient care demands and productivity guidelines
- Monitor and evaluate nursing care delivery, holding staff accountable for clinical outcomes and quality standards
- Foster an environment focused on evidence-based practices, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards
- Lead initiatives to improve efficiency, patient outcomes, and satisfaction metrics
- Provide coaching, feedback, and development plans to support employee engagement and retention
- Collaborate with leadership and interdisciplinary teams to achieve unit goals and system-wide benchmarks
- Manage supply and equipment utilization, identifying and executing cost-saving strategies
- Cultivate a culture of accountability, transparency, and innovation in care delivery
- Support service recovery efforts and patient-first philosophy in every interaction
Unit Overview
- Unit Type: Telemetry / Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – High Acuity
- Beds: 25
- Team Composition: RNs, LPNs, Monitor Techs, PCTs, Charge Nurses
- Leadership Support: Charge Nurses, Peer Managers, Director-level mentoring

Required Qualifications
- RN License (Compact or valid in the state of practice)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required upon hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – Must be obtained within 30 days of hire
- Minimum 5 years of RN experience in acute care settings
- At least 2 years of RECENT (within the past year) leadership experience in acute care (CNC, House Supervisor, or Charge RN roles accepted)
Note: Medical Telemetry-specific experience is not required.
