We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented HR Intern to join our Human Resources team! This internship is a great opportunity for students or recent graduates looking to gain hands-on experience in HR functions, particularly in onboarding and orientation.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate catering and meal arrangements for new hire orientation.
- Assist in planning and managing logistics for orientation, including setup and breakdown.
- Support the background check process by ensuring timely submission and tracking of reports.
- Prepare and draft employment verification letters as needed.
- Conduct audits of DocuSign records to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of employee engagement initiatives and events.
- Create orientation folders and materials.
- Assist with the collection of pre and post-onboarding materials (trainings, I-9 documents, and credentials).
- Assist with updating training agendas for new hire orientation.
- Assist with updating employee personnel profiles via the HRIS.
- Serves as a backup to the HR Assistant in completing assigned tasks including but not limited to creating social media flyers, sending confirmation emails to new hires prior to onboarding, sending new hire packets via Docusign, and tracking mandatory training submissions
- Assist the Director of Human Resources with various projects and administrative tasks
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Human Resources and Human Resources Manager
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor's or master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of tools (DocuSign, Canva, Google Suite).
- Ability to follow instructions and maintain confidential documentation.
- Must be able to provide between 15-30 hours of availability onsite 3x a week.
- Monday & Tuesday onsite are a must during orientation weeks.
- Minimum 6-month commitment. 1 year is ideal.
Working Conditions
The primary work location is our Manhattan office, but this position might require travel to our mental health clinic in the Bronx on occasion. This is a professional work environment where a computer, desk, chair, and office supplies will be provided in either office.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee in order to successfully perform the essential functions of the role above.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to hear and speak on the phone or through virtual telehealth sessions conducted on a computer throughout the day, stand and sit for an extended period, and be able to write and answer emails in addition to carrying objects no greater than 40 pounds, when needed.
