Since 1979, we’ve been providing food for a growing network of nonprofit partners – including food pantries, community kitchens, child-care centers, night shelters and senior centers. We currently serve more than 700 partners in 29 counties across metro Atlanta and north Georgia.

About the Role:

The individual in this position is responsible for leading, writing and driving the development and implementation of routines, SOP’s, procedures, processes, and reporting tools to successfully achieve Atlanta Community Food Bank inventory management standards. This role will ensure compliance with inventory movement & controls, assess supply and demand activity, and report on product receipt, inventory accuracy and distribution performance. This position is responsible to perform as the Super User / Process Owner / Enforcer of Processes for the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Product Barcoding system tools.

What You’ll Do:

Inventory Control

  • Maintains compliance with inventory management standards

  • Directs and analyzes daily blind cycle count audit activities

  • Ensures completion of inventory reconciliations processes daily, weekly, monthly and as needed

  • Coordinates month-end and year-end processes for inventory management and compliance for all channels in food bank (warehouse, CFC, HAC)

  • Recommends process and/or standards changes to drive improvement in inventory control results and activities

  • Manages the inventory location assignment and data structure

Data Management/Analysis

  • Provides reporting and analysis of inventory status and discrepancies weekly, monthly, and on an as needed basis

  • Ensures monthly and annual product receipt, inventory, and distribution performance and data reporting is completed accurately and on time for Organization and Feeding America

  • Develops and provides product receipt, inventory and distribution data reporting and analysis as needed to support continuous improvement

  • Identifies opportunities and recommends solutions to improve existing inventory management systems

  • Work in conjunction with ACFB teams to ensure that all auditing of our processes and procedures are in accordance with established guidelines.

Technical Training

  • Develops and maintains technical knowledge of WMS and Barcode system data structure and logic, including interactions with other ERP tools (ie. Financial System)

  • Creates and maintains current documented standards, procedures, and work instructions/work aids for critical functional task completion

  • Trains staff as needed in successfully performing functional inventory management tasks within WMS and/or Barcode system tools.

People Management

  • Assigns performance goals, initiatives, and work tasks to direct reports

  • Coaches and develops team members to successfully perform in roles

  • Develops direct reports to be self-sufficient in their duties

  • Manages performance of team members, including administration of the Performance Management tools and Disciplinary process

What You’ll Need: Skills and Experience your resume should demonstrate:

  • Proficiency in WMS tools and Barcode Manager

  • Proficiency in Excel database and reporting tools

  • Proficiency in data analysis to improve workflow and daily inventory management

  • Proficiency in supply, demand and inventory management principles

  • Proficient in identifying problems and determining the source of the problem to eliminate any recurrence.

  • Proficient in developing a preventative action plan, execute the plan and evaluate the results for effectiveness

  • Must have demonstrated experience coaching team members

Even Better if you have:

  • Technical certification in Supply, Demand, and Inventory Management

  • Experience in leading continuous improvement initiatives and corrective action processes

  • A thirst for knowledge and are curious by nature

  • Experience with higher level database and reporting tools (ie… Crystal, Tableau)
