Job Overview - Payroll Manager:
Take on a key role as a Payroll Manager with our client in Philadelphia, PA, where you will oversee payroll processes for all campuses. This on-site position is responsible for ensuring accurate payroll calculations and compliance with federal and state laws while leading a payroll team.
Compensation: $80,000 - $105,000/year
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (On-Site)
Responsibilities as the Payroll Manager:
- Payroll Management: Implement, maintain, and review payroll systems to ensure accurate processing of wages, benefits, taxes, and deductions.
- Timekeeping: Manage the time and attendance system, review records for accuracy, and train timekeepers.
- Reporting: Stay up-to-date on payroll regulations, process special payments, and coordinate with payroll tax companies for IRS and state filings.
- Collaboration: Work with HR to ensure alignment with payroll policies and procedures.
- Support: Provide guidance to staff on payroll functions, train new personnel, and ensure backup capabilities for payroll processing.
Qualifications for the Payroll Manager:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance required.
- Experience: 5 years in payroll management (experience in higher education or nonprofit organizations is a plus).
- Certification: Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.
- Skills: Proficient in payroll analysis, reconciliations, and payroll software (preferably Ellucian Banner or Kronos).
- Attributes: Strong leadership, organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
