What are the responsibilities and job description for the Corporate Attorney position at Atlantica Sustainable Infrastructure Ltd?
We are a sustainable infrastructure company primarily focused on renewable energy assets. Our mission is to drive the transition towards a more sustainable world by investing in and managing sustainable infrastructure, while delivering long-term value to our investors and stakeholders.
Our current portfolio includes 40 renewable energy assets with a capacity of 2,048 MW, 343 MW of efficient natural gas-fired power, 1,229 miles of electric transmission lines, and other sustainable assets.
We are currently recruiting a Corporate Attorney - based in Tempe to work at our Tempe office, to strengthen our Legal team.
Responsibilities:
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating corporate contracts, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other business-related agreements.
- Advising on corporate governance matters, ensuring adherence to relevant laws and internal policies.
- Providing counsel on corporate structuring and strategic partnerships.
- Supporting regulatory filings and compliance requirements related to business transactions.
- Representing the company in legal proceedings and negotiations.
- Conducting legal research to support corporate transactions and strategic decisions.
- Managing legal risks and helping shape the company’s overall corporate strategy.
- Collaborating with internal teams to address legal issues effectively and ensure smooth operations.
- Assisting in other legal matters as needed to support the corporate team.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) or Equivalent Law Degree – Required.
- Bar Admission – Required.
Personal Skills:
- Excellent English language skills (written and speaking) at C1 level is a must.
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgement.
- Ability to carry out detailed instructions with limited supervision.
- Good organizational skills.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
- Ability to use logical and divergent reasoning to solve problems.
- Ability to work safely and effectively with others.
- Ability to relay legal information to needed parties.
Technical Qualifications:
- 4-5 years of experience in corporate law, with a focus on business transactions and commercial agreements.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Experience with real property matters or energy permitting matters is a plus.
