Atlas Machine And Supply is a leading provider of industrial equipment solutions. We are seeking an experienced Industrial Equipment Technician to join our team in the Field Service Division.
Job Summary:
This is a field-based position that requires the ability to travel extensively throughout North America. As an Industrial Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for repairing and modifying industrial equipment at customer locations using a variety of machinery and tools.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with preliminary site visits and job planning to ensure efficient and effective repairs.
- Perform repairs or modifications of equipment as applicable in the field, utilizing a range of mechanic skills and expertise.
- Operate various portable machining equipment, including mills, flange facers, boring bars, lathes, welders, and other custom equipment as required.
- Assist the machine shop with jobs when no field work is scheduled, maintaining a flexible schedule to meet overtime requirements.
- Participate in training programs to develop Press knowledge and cross-train in machining, welding, mechanical, and other field solutions as needed.
- Perform all work safely and adhere to regulatory compliance, company policies, and industry standards.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in mechanic and onsite field machining is highly desirable.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with project engineers, field machining supervisors, and customers.
- DOT certification is mandatory, and candidates must be at least 21 years old.
- Welding skills and proficiency with computer applications, such as Microsoft Office, are highly valued.
- Able to read and interpret scope of work and blueprints accurately.
- Frequent travel within North America (estimated 75%) and flexibility to meet overtime requirements are essential aspects of this role.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying environmental conditions.
