What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Specialist position at Atlas Search?
We are partnering with a non-profit organization that is actively seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team. This is an excellent contract opportunity for a candidate with 2-3 years of experience. The ideal hire will have previous experience with non-profit organizations, handling AP processes, and will also be able to go onsite in the Bronx. This role is moving quickly!
Responsibilities:
- Maintain account payable records and files in accordance with agency policies and general accepted accounting principles.
- Review invoices for accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare batches of invoices for data entry.
- Data enter invoices for payment.
- Process checks.
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
- Prepare analysis of accounts as required.
- Assist and work with auditors, funding sources and independent contractors.
- Maintain all contracted services, maintenance agreements, etc. files.
Qualifications:
- Accounting Degree with two (2) years experience in a non-profit agency.
- May be substituted for Associate Degree with four (4) years bookkeeping related experience.
- Computer literacy with working knowledge of spreadsheets, Accounting Systems, and Word Perfect.
- Fund EZ (Nonprofit accounting software) a plus.
