Position Summary:
The IT Help Desk Technician serves as the first point of contact for employees requiring technical assistance. This role is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving computer hardware, software, and network issues. The technician will install and support hardware/software, assist with user account management, and ensure smooth IT operations within the organization.
This position is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, problem-solving environment and is dedicated to providing outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides front-line help desk services, including receiving, evaluating, and scheduling requests for IT support. Troubleshoots computer software and hardware issues over the phone, by chat, or by email.
- Investigates, diagnoses, and resolves network, software, internet access, telephones, and hardware problems. Provides help desk services via remote access to troubleshoot and support staff.
- Install and configure hardware and software for users. Provides end-user training in the use of applications as needed and provides ongoing support
- Creates and maintains IT documentation, including technical manuals and user guides, and ensures it is accurate, up to date, and properly distributed.
- Tracks and reports on user needs and support requirements to identify and communicate trends.
- Responds rapidly to requests for assistance with outstanding customer service skills. Organizes open issues and manages time effectively.
- Assists IT Director with other tasks as requested.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Must have a solid understanding of computers, basic networking, Windows, and Office applications
- Must be highly organized
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must be a self starter and willing to give full effort without direct supervision
- Must closely monitor email and phone to provide rapid communication and resolution to our users
- Must have 2 years of help desk experience
