Position Summary The Shop Manager at Atlas Woodworks is a leadership role for an experienced professional who has mastered the art of managing people and systems. You will oversee the day-to-day operations of our shop, ensuring efficiency, quality, and productivity while leading a team of skilled craftsmen. Your responsibilities will include scheduling, coordinating production timelines, maintaining quality control, and mentoring employees. Your ability to optimize workflows and keep projects on track will be essential to the success of our business.

We are seeking candidates with extensive management experience and skills. Commercial millwork experience is highly preferred but we encourage those with other shop management and leadership experience to apply.

Objectives

• Know and understand the Core Values, Mission Statement, and Vision Statement of Atlas Woodworks LLC, demonstrating alignment with company values both on and off duty.
• Oversee all shop operations, ensuring efficient workflow and quality craftsmanship.
• Lead and train a team of shop managers and employees to develop their skills and maintain high standards.
• Manage production schedules and coordinate with Project Managers to meet project deadlines.
• Read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings with precision.
• Ensure all fabricated components meet project specifications and quality standards.
• Maintain inventory of materials and supplies, ensuring timely procurement to avoid delays.
• Enforce safety protocols and shop cleanliness, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement process improvements.
• Utilize company software, including Procore, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and other tools, to track and manage production.
• Perform equipment maintenance and coordinate necessary repairs.
• Work closely with field teams to ensure seamless transitions from fabrication to installation.
• Provide accurate reporting on production progress, labor hours, and material usage.
• Read and participate in weekly book discussions geared toward personal and professional growth.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Education and Experience

• Minimum of 10 years of experience managing people
• Commercial millwork experience is highly preferred
• Strong knowledge of cabinet and millwork production techniques, materials, and finishes.
• Experience managing employees and shop workflows.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and blueprints.
• Experience using industry-specific software (Procore or similar) is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 100 lbs.
• Must be able to work on feet for extended periods.
• Manual dexterity and fine motor skills required for precision work.
• Ability to work in a shop environment with exposure to sawdust, noise, and varying temperatures.

Required Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Must have a reliable vehicle.
