Position Overview

As the Vice President of Engineering at ATOM, you will spearhead the technological development of our secure hardware devices and phone applications while driving innovation across software and backend systems. This role requires an expert in engineering leadership, skilled in balancing strategic vision with hands-on oversight of secure, scalable, and impactful technologies.

You'll oversee a team developing cutting-edge hardware and software solutions that support ATOM’s media authentication platform. From managing engineering efforts for secure hardware devices to delivering seamless mobile application experiences, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring ATOM’s products are world-class.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Strategy & Leadership

Drive the development of secure, high-performance hardware devices and mobile applications.
Provide leadership in architecture decisions for hardware, software, and backend systems, ensuring robust and maintainable solutions.
Define and execute the engineering roadmap, aligning with business goals and the broader company mission.

Engineering Team Management

Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing engineering team across backend, frontend, hardware, and mobile application domains.

Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture focused on delivering technical excellence.

Establish and enforce engineering best practices, including secure coding, hardware-software integration, and CI / CD pipelines.

Product Development & Integration

Oversee the development of secure hardware solutions, ensuring reliability and seamless integration with software platforms.

Lead the creation of intuitive, high-performance mobile applications for iOS and Android that extend ATOM’s technology to end users.

Ensure seamless integration of ATOM’s technologies into third-party workflows, enhancing adoption and influence.

Cloud Infrastructure & Security

Manage deployment, scaling, and monitoring of backend services on GCP, leveraging Kubernetes, Cloud Functions, and other tools.

Ensure hardware and mobile application systems are built with best-in-class security practices to protect user data and platform integrity.

Guide the development of cloud services for intensive computational tasks, including image and video processing.

Qualifications

Technical Expertise

10 years of professional engineering experience, including 5 years in leadership roles.

Proven experience in designing and managing secure hardware device engineering, including firmware development and hardware-software integration.

Expertise in developing mobile applications for iOS and Android, including experience with native and cross-platform frameworks.

Strong background in backend development (Node.js, Python, Rust) and cloud infrastructure (GCP, Firebase).

Experience with API development, third-party integrations, and secure coding practices.

Background in image processing or verification technologies is a significant plus.

Leadership Skills

Demonstrated ability to lead and scale engineering teams in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to align technical teams with business objectives.
