Position Overview :

Our client, a growing company based in Manhattan, NY, is seeking a Junior Accounts Payable Accountant to join their finance team. This entry-level position offers a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the accounts payable function while supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business. The Junior Accounts Payable Accountant will assist in processing invoices, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring timely payments, all while adhering to company policies and accounting standards.

Responsibilities of the Junior AP Accountant :

• Process and review invoices for accuracy, ensuring all necessary approvals are obtained before payment.
• Match purchase orders to invoices and resolve any discrepancies. Prepare and process payments to vendors, ensuring timely and accurate disbursements.
• Reconcile vendor statements and follow up on outstanding issues or disputes.
• Maintain organized records of all accounts payable transactions, ensuring compliance with internal procedures.
• Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals and reconciliations.
• Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve payment-related issues promptly.
• Support the senior accounts payable team with ad-hoc projects and tasks as needed.
• Assist with maintaining accurate and up-to-date vendor information in the company's accounting system.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards regarding payments and vendor relations.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency in the accounts payable process.
