This role involves inspecting and auditing operations across all phases of quality performance, including raw materials, production, packaging, distribution, HACCP, and GMP standards. The QA Manager will lead the team on the production floor, ensuring adherence to company, customer, and government standards. This position is hands-on and requires working in a dynamic environment starting between 5:30 AM and 6:00 AM, Monday through Friday. Full relocation assistance is available.

Responsibilities of the QA Manager:
- Implement and maintain QA policies, procedures, and directives to meet company, customer, and regulatory expectations.
- Provide feedback and ensure corrective actions are completed.
- Lead and guide the plant's SQF certification program.
- Prepare for and oversee customer and annual SQF audits.
- Develop and maintain the HACCP plan and provide training to plant personnel on quality programs.
- Communicate with USDA officials regarding pre-operational and operational inspections.
- Oversee quality programs such as Pest Control, Self-Inspection, Supplier Management, Safety, Microbial Testing, and Defense.
- Conduct pre-shipment reviews, validate CCPs, and report deficiencies in GMPs, HACCP, and SSOPs.
- Perform microbiological tests on finished products, environmental samples, and food contact surfaces.
- Utilize total quality management tools to enhance analytical and reporting processes across departments.
- Direct inspection and testing activities to maintain control over materials, facilities, and products. Investigate customer complaints, implement changes if necessary, and write corrective action reports.
- Collaborate with the Plant Manager and Sanitation Manager to ensure proper housekeeping and equipment maintenance.
- Work with vendors to ensure purchased products and materials meet established quality standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- 4 - 6 years of quality control experience in a food manufacturing environment.
- USDA experience is mandatory (experience in pet food is not applicable).
- HACCP certification is preferred.
- SQF certification preferred. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other computer applications.
- Proficient in quality processes related to food manufacturing, including HACCP, SSOP, and SOP.
- Familiarity with USDA and FDA standards.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proven problem-solving abilities and ability to analyze information skillfully.
- Team-oriented with the ability to lead and inspire others.
- Bachelor's degree required for the QA Manager.
