Welcome to Attune Agriculture! We are hiring a Regional Sales Manager – Northern Plains to manage sales to growers and ag retailers in the Northern Plains primarily focused on the Dakotas, Minnesota, Iowa and Nebraska. This role will report directly to the CEO and will establish and execute a sales strategy – focusing on establishing and building relationships with new retailers and making connections with growers. The role will require travel to visit growers and retailers, and non-travel time will be spent in a home office. The preferred candidate will, ideally, be in South Dakota.

What you will be doing:
Sales Planning
The Northern Plains Regional Sales Manager will work with management to establish a selling strategy and tactics and will have a defined approach for how to achieve their sales goals. The Northern Plains
Develop and execute a sales plan which includes target accounts and contacts, planned sales activities and necessary milestones to generate sales
Execute the sales plan and communicate progress against the plan
Communicate the risks, assumptions and dependencies of with the sales plan to management,
Manage and progress a qualified pipeline of opportunities by prioritizing assigned accounts and contacts and advancing opportunities with a disciplined and organized approach
Understand what’s working and what’s not and make necessary adjustments in the sales approach or activity levels to achieve targeted sales goals
Submit timely forecasts and pipeline reports to management
Proactively communicate unexpected increases or decreases from new or lost opportunities
Identify shortfalls and develop plans to ensure overall sales plans are achieved
Sales
The Northern Plains Regional Sales Manager’s primary area of responsibility will be generatingprofitable sales and managing the sales process through the following activities:
Understanding, and communicating, our product offerings and their unique benefits
Effectively qualifying and prioritizing opportunities to pursue
Utilizing multiple communication avenues (phone, in-person, video, etc.) to build relationships
Effectively researching companies to spark valuable conversation with key stakeholders
Qualifying all leads that come in through website, phone, and company email
Generating interest with key stakeholders to procure effective discovery conversations
Gathering and documenting helpful information into Microsoft Dynamics and using this information to prioritize follow-up activities
Conducting discovery meetings with executives, purchasing managers, growers and retailers
Training retailer sales teams and effectively working through those sales teams to increase Attune product adoption at the grower level
Asking effective questions to uncover the client’s needs to recommend the best solutions
Effectively overcoming objections
Working extended hours in-season to meet business demands
Working in a safe manner
This job is for you if you have:
Bachelor’s degree is required. Degree in agriculture, agribusiness, agronomy, or other related field is preferred but not required.
Knowledge of the fundamental concepts, principles and practices of account management/sales
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to tailor communications appropriately to each customer
Proven track record of successful account management/sales
Proven customer acumen and relationship-building skills
Experience interfacing with both internal team members and external customers as part of a solution-based sales process
Experience and relations in produce, citrus, and berry markets is preferred.
Prior sales experience in agriculture industry.
Located in South Dakota is preferred but not required.
