Job Summary:We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused IT Support Technician to join our IT team. This entry-level position is responsible for providing first-line technical assistance to end-users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring smooth IT operations. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for IT support requests via phone, email, or ticketing system.
- Diagnose and resolve basic technical issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
- Assist users with password resets, account lockouts, and access permissions.
- Provide support for operating systems (Primarily Windows & Linux), and common and specialized software applications.
- Install, configure, and maintain workstations, printers, and peripheral devices.
- Escalate complex issues when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of support requests, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in the ticketing system.
- Educate users on best practices for IT security, software usage, and self-service troubleshooting.
- Assist in onboarding new employees by setting up accounts, devices, and required software.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and networking concepts.
- Experience with troubleshooting OS and networking environments.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace, email systems, and remote support tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- IT certifications such as CompTIA A , ITIL Foundation, or Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate.
- Experience using IT ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Zendesk, Jira).
- Familiarity with Active Directory, and other Microsoft Server Applications.
- Experience with IT security tools and practices (e.g., antivirus, firewalls).
