The Staff Accountant will support the financial reporting and analysis for various brands within our portfolio, focusing on consolidated balance sheet account reconciliations and income statement review. This role will ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and contribute to the overall financial health of the company through detailed account reconciliations and analysis.
Essential Functions:
Review and analyze income statements for assigned brands, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
Assist in monthly and quarterly close processes, including preparing journal entries and supporting schedules.
Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and company policies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and provide financial data and insights related to assigned accounts and brands.
Support external audit processes by providing required documentation and explanations.
Assist in the development and improvement of accounting processes, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes as needed for specific brands.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting required. CPA or CPA-candidate preferred
Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience; experience with public accounting firms preferred.
Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
