CNC Operator Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator to join our ISO certified manufacturing team. Minimum of 5 years experience with setup and operation of CNC lathes and machining centers. Some programming experience a plus but not required. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines to fabricate precision parts according to specifications. This job will require the setup of fixtures, setting work coordinates, mounting tooling and setting tool offsets, and the verification of programs and machine operation. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, quality control, and the ability to read blueprints. The CNC Operator will play a crucial role in ensuring that production goals are met while maintaining high standards of quality. Our normal shift is a 10 hour day starting at 5am and ending at 3:30pm, Monday through Thursday. Starting pay $20/hr with top out pay of $27.50/hr. Must have a valid drivers license and be able to pass drug test.
Duties
- Operate CNC milling machines and other related equipment to produce parts as per engineering drawings and specifications.
- Set up and adjust CNC machines for optimal performance, including tool changes and offsets.
- Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical documents to determine machining processes.
- Conduct quality control checks on finished products to ensure they meet required tolerances and specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines to ensure they operate efficiently.
- Handle materials safely and effectively throughout the production process.
- Collaborate with team members to improve production processes and resolve any issues that arise during machining.
Skills
- Proficiency in programming CNC machines and understanding G-code.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Experience with materials handling and operating forklifts safely.
- Familiarity with CAD software for interpreting designs and creating machining programs.
- Ability to read blueprints accurately and understand technical specifications.
- Knowledge of tooling requirements for various machining operations.
- Excellent attention to detail for quality control purposes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
