Job Responsibilities:
- Review appraisal values for customer vehicles that are submitted online and revising when needed based on actual condition.
- Understand market trends and changes to trends in geographic market.
- Provide guidance and support to dealership BDC Associates as it relates to purchasing used vehicles.
- Interacting with the BDC Associates to collect additional information on sight unseen vehicles if more information is needed to establish an initial value.
- Provide the daily management to the Drop Off Associates, including the training and development of the team.
- Facilitate the recruiting, selection, on boarding and training of associates; planning/scheduling/assigning, monitoring and appraising job results and associate performance; and the coaching, counseling and disciplining of associates so as to develop and retain a qualified workforce.
- Conduct daily and weekly meetings, to include training.
- Assist in managing controllable expense elements for the Used Vehicle Department.
- Contacting franchise stores to establish a buy bid number when applicable.
- Comparing actual vehicle condition to the Condition Report filled out online by the customer.
- Partnering with the Reconditioning Team to establish accurate repair estimates.
- Will facilitate wholesale transportation to auction facilities.
- Achieve targeted closing percentage rates for We’ll Buy Your Car purchases.
- Achieve targeted amount of reconditioning estimate of appraisal vs. actual reconditioning expense.
- Demonstrate behaviors consistent with the Company’s Vision, Mission, and Values in all interactions with customers, co-workers, and suppliers.
- Adheres to all company policies, procedures and safety standards.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or the equivalent.
- Customer facing skills and ability to handle difficult conversations with customers
- Sales Manager experience required.
- Ability to negotiate pricing on a vehicle
- Minimum 3 years of experience in vehicle appraisals and used car operations and leadership highly preferred.
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills
- Computer literacy
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Ability to meet company’s production and quality standards.
- Valid in-state driver’s license and an acceptable, safe driving record
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
- Prolonged periods of standing.
- Ability to operate an automobile.
- Exposure to inclement weather.
