AutoZone's Strategic Business Development Manager will be responsible for the expansion of AutoZone's Commercial business by prospecting and developing new business through relationships, negotiation and collaboration with AutoZone sales and functional support teams. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify high potential national accounts with a minimum of $1MM in annual incremental sales
- Identify and set appointments with executive level decision makers
- Discover / Evaluate customer's needs and current relationships
- Present AutoZone's value proposition
- Negotiate programs in accordance with AutoZone's commercial margin expectations
- Work with AutoZone functional support teams to build a proposal based on discovery
- Submit deal sheets outlining program, sales and margin expectations for approval
- Draft and deliver proposal
- Work through the legal agreement process
- Communicate / Implement program across chain or region(s) in partnership with DCSM/RCSM/CBDM/RBDM field leadership sales teams
- Report on sales activity / Drive sales growth for 12 months
- Transition the customer to the appropriate Top to Top BDM or Vertical BDM
- Work with marketing to plan and execute lead generation campaigns
- Provide feedback to sales management on ways to decrease the sales cycle and enhance sales
- Conduct all sales activities with the highest degree of professionalism and integrity
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Strategic Business Development or C-Suite corporate sales
- 7 years’ experience in C-Suite Corporate sales experience; automotive preferred
- Superior communication, presentation, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Capable of interacting with multiple levels within an organization and communicating company goals to external organizations.
- 70% travel is required
