The Administrator in Training program includes : Hands on training and Development by a seasoned Licensed Nursing Home Administrator, rotation through the various departments and duties in a skilled nursing or assisted living facility; education on the interrelationships of the facility with outside parties and government agencies (such as the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services); and a study of regulations and requirements associated with the operation of a skilled nursing facility. Other topics of education for those in the AIT position include business / fiscal accounting management and principles of risk management and health care compliance. Administrator in Training candidates must meet the minimum regulatory requirements for licensure in their state of intended residence.
