As our Payroll Specialist you will be responsible for ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time by processing payroll, managing deductions, and maintaining compliance with tax laws and company policies. Our Avail Payroll team handles multiple pay cycles, resolves payroll-related inquiries, and prepares detailed reports to support audits and organizational transparency.
Reporting directly to our Payroll Manager, this is a fully remote position. As our headquarters is based in Georgia, our hours of operation are on Eastern Standard Time due to our payroll processing schedule.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Experience: 2 year of payroll experience, or relevant experience. 401k experience is a bonus.
- Skills: ADP experience is preferred.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Maintains and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
- Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
- Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
- Working knowledge of compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
- Assist with tax notices and working with TPA for quarterly and annual filings.
- Working knowledge of related payroll laws and understanding of multi-location payroll and taxes.
- Maintains payroll records, prepares reports for management, or to meet legislative obligations.
- Ensures payments comply with collective bargaining agreements, legislation, or other regulatory instruments.
- Prepares and distributes pay information to employees and answer questions regarding payroll matters.
- Create and maintain payroll instructions, including Standard Operating Procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
