Are you looking to make a meaningful impact in a close-knit community while working in one of the most scenic spots in California? Catalina Island Health is seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Medical Receptionist/Scheduler to join our front office team of our Rural Health Clinic.
As the first point of contact for patients, you’ll play a key role in ensuring a smooth and positive experience—from check-in to check-out. While this is a nonclinical position, you’ll work closely with medical staff and handle clinical terminology and scheduling with accuracy and care.

Essential Duties
- Greet patients and assist with check--in and check-out
- Verify insurance eligibility and update patient records
- Schedule and confirm appointments
- Collect co-pays and process payments
- Communicate clearly with clinical staff to support efficient patient flow
- Ensure patients documentation is complete and accurate
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- A people person with a passion for helping others
- Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
- Comfortable with clinical terms and electronic medical records (EMRs) or willingness to learn
Education/Experience
- High School diploma or GED required
- 2-3 years of medical front office or scheduling experience preferred
- Familiarity with insurance verification or EMR systems
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
