The Acquisitions/Development Analyst works closely with the VP of Acquisitions, Development Officer, the Director of Acquisitions, and senior management in the pursuit of new real estate investment and development opportunities. This role teams up with the transactions department and asset management staff in support of a broad range of business decision analytics involving acquisitions, dispositions and development opportunities. Oversight of these functions and performance of all related duties will need to be performed with minimal direction. Excellent work product is required.
What You’ll Do…
- Identify and evaluate prospective investment opportunities for acquisitions and development teams within specified submarkets, assessing risks, and determining deal fundamentals for the investment committee.
- Perform financial modeling, including income, expense, and capital improvement projections, stress testing scenarios, and investor yield forecasts.
- Conduct market, demographic, and economic analysis to evaluate submarket locations.
- Play a key role in due diligence, financial underwriting, and transaction management for acquisitions and new developments.
- Collaborate with equity development and ground-up development teams to source and evaluate deal opportunities that align with various investment partners’ strategies.
- Assist in creating business plans, documenting deal points, and ensuring a smooth transition to property and asset management teams.
- Source loan quotes for acquisitions, refinancing, or supplemental loans, and assist in preparing financial packages for debt and equity.
- Support the asset management team by preparing property reports, assisting with investor communications, and developing Excel-based proprietary models.
- Translate complex legal language from operating agreements into accurate Excel-based financial waterfalls.
- Assist in assembling investor information, legal materials, and marketing documents for recapitalizations or dispositions.
Requirements
What You Need to Succeed…
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or real estate required.
- Master’s degree in real estate or CFA preferred.
- 3-5 years of commercial real estate experience in acquisitions and development preferred.
- Thorough understanding of commercial real estate finance and valuation
- Thorough understanding of multi-family fundamentals.
- Microsoft Excel and database management knowledge.
- Analytical skills and high attention to detail.
- Interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Pass criminal background screening prior to employment.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and up-to-date vehicle insurance OR reliable transportation is required.

Salary : $70,000 - $90,000
