What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervisor, Warehouse Operations (Resonant Clinical Solutions) position at Avantor?
The Opportunity:
MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (List in order of importance)
Plans, prioritizes and coordinates department workflow to optimize customer service levels.
Monitors activity demands and proactively plans for future resource and facility requirements.
Trains, motivates, monitors and evaluates performance of Warehouse Associates in conformance to policies and procedures (SOP’s, Work Instructions).
Ensures safe operating of material handling equipment.
Monitors the receipt of all materials into the receiving department, ensures materials are sampled and stored in an efficient manner.
Plans for product shipments to achieve customer delivery dates.
Ensures all activities are performed in accordance to written procedures, ISO9001 and cGMP’s.
Investigates failure modes and implements corrective/preventive actions accordingly.
Ensures inventory is properly decremented in computer system.
Leads the site cycle count program.
Resolves discrepancies with appropriate personnel regarding invoices, packing slips, and receipts.
Oversees the movement of material from receiving to the warehouse in an efficient, effective, and safe manner.
Performs work functions as required by business demand including; receiving, repackaging and shipping of final product.
Works in partnership with the Production Planner and internal associates to insure customer needs are met in a timely manner.
Maintains neat and orderly work areas including all packaging rooms and warehouse areas.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications)
Associate’s degree in Business Management, Industrial Management or related field required, Bachelor’s degree preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of 5 years related experience in Warehousing, Receiving, Inventory Control, or Materials Management in a manufacturing environment required
Industrial powered equipment experience preferred
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those necessary to perform the job competently)
Strong customer orientation
Ability to evaluate internal customer needs and respond with appropriate action/delivery
Working knowledge of inventory managements systems
ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL EFFORT (Under Typical Positions)
Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.
Although the associate primarily works in an office environment, while performing the duties of this job, the associate can be exposed to an industrial warehouse environment. The associate may work near moving mechanical machinery and/or vehicles and the noise level in the work environment can be loud.
Work assignments are diversified. Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems. New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems.
A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on routine basis.
Minimal physical effort is required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 10 lbs.
