You will drive the growth of our heat treatment and tolling services through collaboration, business development and fostering long-term relationships with OEM partners. This role requires a deep understanding of advanced materials sales, asset utilization, complex qualification timeframe, and long-term contracts around all addressable markets. Strong business development, broad business knowledge, strategic thinking, technical acumen, exceptional communication skills and a proven track record of driving partnerships that foster innovation and growth are required.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The position will receive day-to-day direction from the GM-Ohio Operations with adjacent reporting responsibility to the Director – New Business Development and the CEO, where applicable.
- Primary responsibility will be to lead the planning and implementation of strategic business objectives in support of AvCarb’s Ohio operations.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and technological advancements to inform the company's strategic approach.
- Establish, understand, and strengthen connections between the customer’s business strategy and AvCarb’s product and development capabilities to optimize account sales potential.
- Utilize comprehensive understanding of our decarbonization solutions, their features, benefits, and technical specifications to effectively communicate value propositions to OEM partners.
- Effectively collaborate with engineering, operations, and finance teams to align sales strategies with overall customer objectives.
- Build and manage strong relationships with senior executives, engineering, and procurement teams at OEM partners to ensure alignment, collaboration, and effective communication.
- Participate in sales forecasting, sales goal setting and strategic planning.
- Remain current with industry trends, market dynamics, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes in the market environment.
- This position is based in Wadsworth, OH.
- Ability to travel within North America, as needed.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Ideal Candidate has a bachelor’s degree in engineering and/or Material Science, MBA a plus.
- 5 years of experience supporting sales and relationship management of large, complex accounts, preferably within the advanced materials industry with resins, fibers, and complex qualifications.
- Experience in Aerospace, Energy, Defense, or other complex markets is desired.
- Strong business acumen and ability to formulate strategic plans that align with market trends and customer needs, complex programs with long-lead time qualifications and sole source positions, highly differentiated products, and large asset driven programs are a must.
- Understanding of new technology development processes and commercialization, ideally with novel heat treatment and tolling services.
- Strong drive, sense of urgency, self-motivation, and goal-orientation
- Analytical mindset with the ability to translate market insights into actionable business strategies.
- Experience in generating, qualifying, and closing new business opportunities.
- Exceptional communications and negotiations skills, both verbal and written. Must project competence and confidence when interacting with senior executives of AvCarb customers and strategic partners.
- Willingness to travel as required.
