Role & Responsibilities:
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Technical Accounting for a well established food processing company in Springdale, AR. In this role, you will serve as an expert and project lead on various U.S. GAAP and SEC technical accounting issues.
- Research complex transactions and new accounting guidance independently, assessing implications, documenting conclusions, communicating with the impacted businesses and corporate departments, training, and managing an implementation plan.
- Provide technical accounting guidance in areas such as contracts, revenue recognition, leases, derivatives, VIE assessments, impairment analysis, acquisitions, divestitures, and the overall application of both new and existing accounting standard
- Mentor other members of the Technical Accounting and Corporate Accounting teams
- Work closely with external auditors to ensure the timely resolution of technical accounting issues.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required-accounting or finance degree preferred
- Experience: 7 years related experience including technical accounting and writing accounting memos
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP is required. Lease accounting experience highly desirable
- Certifications: CPA preferred.
- Computer Skills: Advanced computer skills including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook. SAP and Power BI highly preferred
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills necessary to perform the essential functions of the role. Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate
- Travel: 1-4 domestic trips per year
