We seek a qualified Tax Accountant to support the Group Tax Department by handling various tax-related tasks, including preparing federal corporate income tax returns, calculating estimated and extension tax payments, and assisting with tax provision and audit preparation. Tax accountants also manage additional filings, such as federal information filings and state and local indirect taxes. Their work ensures compliance with tax regulations and helps optimize the company's tax position, which is crucial in overall financial management.Responsibilities

- Assist with day-to-day, monthly, and year-end operations of the Tax department
- Prepare calculations used to make estimated/extension income tax payments
- Prepare pro-forma Federal income tax returns to be included in a large consolidated tax group, including the associated international forms
- Prepare and update tax provisional schedules
- Review property tax assessments and prepare annual property tax returns
- Prepare other annual informational returns
- Prepare clear and concise working papers
- Respond to income tax notices and inquiries
- Assist with income tax audits (Federal and state)
- Research income tax issues and assist in developing recommendations/resolutions
- Assist with special projects as necessary, which may include (but is not limited to) transfer pricing and other reporting
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- 2-4 years of prior experience in public accounting or equivalent
- Experience preparing and reviewing tax returns and audit compilations
- Strong accounting and analytical skills
- Strong computer skills: proficiency in audit software, Excel, Word
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to work well with others
- Willingness to learn
- Detail-oriented & ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Ability to self-motivate, work with a sense of urgency, and to prioritize tasks
- Experience with CorpTax tax compliance and provision software is a plus
- Experience with SAGE or another fixed assets software is a plus
- Experience preparing and reviewing property tax filings and assessments is a plus
