JOB SUMMARY :
The Quality Inspection Lead oversees a team of inspectors for the area / program assigned and ensures all applicable specifications and quality assurance instructions are being performed. The Lead works under minimal supervision, provides direction and resolves moderately difficult to complex issues while overseeing successful achievement of the business plan to meet customer requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Acts as the focal point of communication with the inspector team regarding directions, performances and changes being implemented in the inspection process or requirements.
- Ensures compliance to specifications & work instructions at every steps of the inspection.
- Prepares and presents all necessary documentation for Daily Layered Accountability (DLA) reporting : quantities completed against plan and reasons explaining deviations from plan.
- Proposes solutions to mitigate recurring issues and continuously improve team performance.
- Manages the day-to-day activities and priorities for the assigned area to ensure “actual meet planned quantities”.
- Acts as the secondary point of contact to troubleshoot CMM (Coordinate-Measuring Machine) equipment issues and ensures downtime is minimized, acknowledged and tracked.
- Supports audit preparation, results and corrective action follow ups as required.
- Plans for weekend & holiday coverage as required to meet customer requirements.
- Provides coaching on products, materials, components, parts at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with established quality and reliability standards.
- Reviews timesheets for proper tracking of attendance and processing of time off requests.
- Assists supervisor with staffing activities, including but not limited to hiring, performance and disciplinary actions.
- Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, and location as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range : $32.00 / hour - $40.00 / hour.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary.
