HEAD OF ILS BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
AXIS ILS is looking to expand its team to include an individual that will play an integral role in:
- Leading and developing the global strategic distribution and marketing plan to generate new investor relationships for AXIS ILS.
- Identification of target investors, development of relationships, and overseeing the resulting diligence process leading to successful capital raising from institutional investors.
- Managing the existing investor relations management team and capital invested in property catastrophe sidecars, catastrophe bonds, joint ventures and other ILS structures.
- Supporting the Global Head of AXIS ILS in the development of the AXIS ILS strategy and the annual plan supporting achievement of the strategy.
- Creating and capitalizing ILS vehicles through collaboration with segment and group underwriting teams to build diversified portfolios of underwriting risks balancing investor objectives with AXIS’ underwriting objectives
- Coordinating with Finance, Reserving, Operations, Legal and other internal and external partners to ensure appropriate investor servicing processes are established and maintained.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree required. CFA, MBA preferred.
- Experience working in a senior role at investment manager / investment fund
- Typically requires at least 7-10 years’ experience successfully sourcing, managing and winning investor RFPs to raise private capital from institutional investors including sovereign wealth, fund of funds, large asset managers, PE, HF, credit funds
- Familiar with the organization, structure and launch of SPVs and funds
- Desire to represent AXIS as industry panel and conference speaker
- Experience in ILS and catastrophe reinsurance
- Knowledgeable about private placement marketing regulations, and ensuring the adherence to a strong compliance environment
- Impeccable presentation skills and executive presence
- Ability to design and populate top quality marketing materials
- Proven to source, manage and win investor RFPs and mandates
