Job Title: Permit Coordinator/Designer

Pay Rate: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour, DOE (Dependent on Experience)
Job Summary:
The Permit Coordinator at Aztec Solar will play a vital role in managing city, county, and state permits for solar installation projects. This position ensures projects stay on schedule by maintaining communication with design coordinators, internal departments, and external regulatory agencies, all while upholding compliance with relevant permitting requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Permit Management:
Prepare, submit, and track permit applications for city, county, and state authorities.
Verify that all permits meet applicable codes and regulations.
Maintain accurate records and databases for permit documentation.
Collaboration with Design Teams:
Work closely with design coordinators to obtain project-specific documentation and plans needed for permits.
Communicate updates or revisions to designs as requested by permitting authorities.
Internal and External Communication:
Act as the central point of contact between internal departments, such as design, sales, and operations, to ensure timely updates and information sharing regarding permits.
Liaise with external agencies to address any questions or delays in the permitting process.
Regulatory Compliance and Documentation:
Ensure all applications and projects meet current local, state, and federal solar permitting regulations.
Keep informed of changes to permitting laws or guidelines and adjust processes accordingly.
Problem Solving and Timeline Management:
Address and resolve permit-related delays or issues with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
Maintain clear communication with stakeholders to ensure project deadlines are met.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's or bachelor’s degree in business administration, construction management, or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience in permitting, project coordination, or a related role, ideally in the solar or construction industry.
Knowledge of local, state, and federal permitting processes is highly desirable.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
Knowledge of solar energy systems and installation processes is a plus.
