Job Summary
 
B&A is looking for an IT Project Specialist to join a contract with a federal government client in support of an important mission. We are seeking a detail-oriented IT Project Specialist to assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of IT projects. This role supports project managers and IT teams in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of IT systems, project management methodologies, and stakeholder communication.
 
Responsibilities
  • Support IT project managers in planning, scheduling, and tracking project deliverables.
  • Assist in defining project scope, objectives, and success criteria.
  • Coordinate meetings, document discussions, and track action items.
  • Manage project documentation, including requirements, timelines, and status reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, engineers, and business stakeholders.
  • Monitor project risks and escalate issues as needed.
  • Assist in vendor coordination, procurement, and contract management.
  • Utilize project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, Asana, MS Project) to track progress.
  • Support change management efforts by documenting procedures and training materials.
  • Ensure compliance with IT governance, security policies, and best practices.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Required Skills
  • 5 years of experience in managing IT projects/initiatives of varying size and complexity from initiation to closure
  •  5 years combined working Agile and Waterfall methodology
  • 5 years of experience communicating and collaborating with stakeholders at various levels, including government executives, IT teams, and external partners
  • 5 years of experience collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • 5 years of creating and maintaining projects/initiatives documentation, including project plans, status reports, meeting minutes, and other relevant records
  • 5 years of experience with Microsoft Office Tools such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, and Forms
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified associate's in project management (CAPM) or equivalent is required
Desired Skills
  • Experience working in enterprise IT environments or with digital transformation projects.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity, DevOps, or cloud computing.
  • Experience with financial planning and budgeting for IT projects.
Security Clearance
  • Eligible to obtain a security clearance.
