Position Overview:
We are seeking an IT Project Specialist to oversee and coordinate IT initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and project objectives. The ideal candidate will have experience managing IT projects using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams, and maintaining comprehensive project documentation. This role is remote, but preference will be given to candidates based in North Carolina.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage IT projects/initiatives from initiation to closure, ensuring timely completion and stakeholder satisfaction.
Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to define project scope, deliverables, and resource allocation.
Utilize Agile and Waterfall methodologies to track project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
Maintain detailed project documentation, including project plans, meeting minutes, and status reports.
Facilitate communication between IT teams, executives, and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment on project objectives.
Oversee project governance, ensuring adherence to industry best practices and compliance standards.
Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Project Management, or a related field.
5 years of experience managing IT projects of varying complexity.
Strong knowledge of Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, and Forms.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results under tight deadlines.
Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) required.
Additional Qualifications:

Experience working in government or highly regulated industries is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience presenting to executive leadership.
Knowledge of IT security frameworks and compliance requirements is a plus.
