Position Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented, dependable Accounts Payable Clerk to join our Finance team. This individual will be responsible for accurately processing vendor invoices, ensuring timely payments, and supporting the overall financial operations of the company. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced agricultural business environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process high-volume vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Match purchase orders, receipts, and invoices; investigate discrepancies
- Prepare and process weekly check runs and electronic payments
- Maintain and reconcile the AP aging report
- Assist with month-end close by preparing AP-related journal entries and reconciliations
- Maintain vendor records and respond to vendor inquiries
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and company policies
- Collaborate with Procurement, Operations, and Finance teams to resolve issues
- Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required.
- 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable or a similar accounting role
- Review, verify, and enter vendor invoices with a high level of accuracy
- Match invoices to purchase orders and receipts; resolve discrepancies promptly
- Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain positive working relationships
- Support the month-end close process with AP journal entries and reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies related to invoicing and payables
- Assist with audits by providing AP and invoicing documentation as requested
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
- Experience in agriculture, manufacturing, or distribution environments preferred
- Public accounting
