Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Agent to join our dynamic team. This person will be responsible for procuring materials used in assembling parts kits. This role requires expertise in inventory control, materials management, and good communication skills to effectively manage supplier relationships. The Purchasing Agent will play a crucial role in supporting our e-commerce operations by maintaining optimal inventory levels and ensuring timely delivery of products.
Duties
- Procure materials and supplies necessary for operations while ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Work closely with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
- Monitor inventory levels utilizing our BrightPearl management system to maintain optimal stock and minimize excess inventory.
- Utilize the BrightPearl management system for tracking inventory, placing orders, and managing supplier information.
- Collaborate with various departments to forecast material needs based on production schedules and market demand.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to delivery or quality of goods.
- Conduct market research to identify potential new suppliers and evaluate their offerings.
Experience
- Proven experience in purchasing or procurement roles, preferably within an e-commerce environment.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles and practices.
- Familiarity with desktop computer programs, email services and web-based platforms.
- Familiarity with materials management processes and systems.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build relationships with suppliers.
