Position Overview:
We are working with an esteemed university as they are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to serve as the Assistant Vice President of Health and Wellness within its Division of Student Life. This critical position reports directly to the Vice President of Student Life and plays a pivotal role in promoting and advancing the health and wellness of the university’s diverse student population.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Strategic Planning:
- Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive health and wellness programs that meet the needs of the student community.
- Lead strategic planning efforts to enhance health and wellness services and align them with the university's mission.
- Foster a culture of wellness across the campus, integrating wellness into all aspects of student life.
- Program Development and Management:
- Oversee the operations and administration of wellness-related departments, including Counseling, Health Services, and Recreation.
- Ensure the provision of high-quality services and programs that promote mental, physical, and emotional well-being.
- Implement evidence-based practices and monitor the effectiveness of health initiatives.
- Collaboration and Outreach:
- Collaborate with campus partners, local health organizations, and community stakeholders to create synergies and expand wellness resources.
- Engage with students to understand their needs and gather feedback to continuously improve wellness offerings.
- Develop outreach strategies to raise awareness of health and wellness resources.
- Budget and Resource Management:
- Manage budgetary resources for health and wellness initiatives, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with strategic goals.
- Explore external funding opportunities and partnerships to support wellness programs.
- Compliance and Advocacy:
- Ensure compliance with health-related regulations and university policies.
- Advocate for health and wellness needs and resources to university leadership and external entities.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in public health, student affairs, counseling, healthcare administration, or a related field required; Doctorate preferred.
- Minimum of seven years of experience in health and wellness management or higher education administration.
- Proven track record of leadership and strategic planning in a complex organizational environment.
- Strong understanding of wellness frameworks and student development theories.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Salary : $150,000 - $180,000
