Backhaul Direct is hiring a Logistics Account Manager for our Indianapolis, IN office. The Logistics Account Manager is on our sales team and is responsible for managing dedicated customer accounts. This Logistics Account Manager requires great communication skills, energetic personality, and a strong work ethic. The ability to comprehend complex situations and foresee what needs to be accomplished to achieve success is essential to this position.  We are looking for a Logistics Account Manager that possesses a self-starter mentality, who can provide ownership and accountability.

What will you do as the Logistics Account Manager?
  • Manage assigned customer accounts and expand transportation services by providing customer service and finding ways to solve customer shipping needs
  • Manage the relationship between the customer and the company
  • Create solutions based on customer needs
  • Build strong relationships with customers by staying in constant communication to ensure day-to-day and long-term needs are met
  • Demonstrates industry knowledge and ability and can apply the competency in new or complex situations
  • Leverage organizational skills to manage multiple customers
  • Manage customer expectations and provide exceptional customer service
  • Collaboratively work with other departments to properly manage customer needs
What qualifications do you need to become a Logistics Account Manager?
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, supply chain, or management preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in inside sales or account management preferred, specifically within the transportation industry preferred
  • Strong work ethic and self-driven
  • Confident decision-making skills, and ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
  • Strong sense of urgency to complete tasks in order to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • Effective, professional communication
  • An entrepreneurial attitude and growth mindset
