What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Specialist position at Badger State Staffing?
Badger State Staffing is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our client's growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for full-cycle accounts processing, with a strong emphasis on state and local tax compliance. This role requires a high degree of accuracy and the ability to work independently within established timelines.
Primary Duties:
- Process high-volume invoices, including verifying accuracy, coding to appropriate general ledger accounts, and obtaining necessary approvals
- Prepare and process vendor payments, including checks and electronic payments
- Maintain accurate vendor records and resolve any discrepancies
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any outstanding issues
- Assist with month-end close procedures, including accruals and reconciliations
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of all state and local tax returns
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant tax laws and regulations
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers
- Participate in special projects as assigned
Schedule: Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience with tax compliance related to AR/AP and payroll
- Experience with SAGE 50, 100, or 300 is a plus but not required
- Tech-savvy and comfortable working independently
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
