Fixed Asset Accountant

Overview:
The Fixed Asset Accountant is responsible for managing and maintaining all Company trucks, trailers, buildings and other equipment through a variety of software platforms and ensuring that these assets are accurately accounted for in the company’s financial records.

This position will also play a key role in assisting the Fleet Maintenance Manager in daily operational duties and special assignments as needed.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate records of all company equipment through the use of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Dispatch Commodity and other fixed assets software.
• Review, reconcile and analyze big data from differing sources utilizing advanced Excel functions.
• Review of existing fixed assets for obsolescence or impairment and conducting periodic physical inventory checks.
• Calculating depreciation for all fixed assets and recording depreciation expense.
• Recording the newly acquired and disposed assets.
• Conducting analyses related to fixed assets as requested by management.
• Assist the Fleet Maintenance Manager in equipment maintenance and DOT compliance.
• Prepare detailed reports on the status of equipment, locations and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Ability to travel and work remotely at Company assigned locations as needed.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and ability to successfully pass required skills test.
• One year or more of fixed asset accounting experience preferred.
• Preferred knowledge of FullBay, Dispatch Commodity and Thompson Reuters FAS applications.
• Applied knowledge of Microsoft Word, and Outlook.
• Strong analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, multi-task, and deliver quality work in an efficient manner.
