Baker Construction Co. is a family owned and operated commercial masonry contractor located in Whitmore Lake, MI. With a focus on commercial, industrial, and institutional masonry projects throughout Michigan, the Company takes pride in their quality workmanship. The Company has experienced steady growth over the years and is looking to add a Construction Estimator / Project Manager to their growing team.
The Construction Estimator / Project Manager Position
The Construction Estimator / Project Manager is responsible for the implementation of the project from pre-bid to successful completion and final payment. General responsibilities include but are not limited to : prepare estimates and budgets, pre-construction submittals, take-offs, creating progress schedules, purchase orders and subcontracts. Review and manage weekly costs, change order management, track pay items & quantities, recognizing extra work & claims. Request extensions of time in accordance with contract requirements, monitor rental equipment needs versus budget, complete final close-out documents, finalize quantities & payments.

Desired Experience, Skills, and Abilities for the Construction Estimator / Project Manager Position
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is preferred
- At least 2 years of experience in Construction is preferred
- Ideal candidates will be knowledgeable with Masonry Construction
- Understanding of project budgets, cost control, and financial management
- Strong attention to detail in addition to communication and organizational skills
- Significant experience with computers and a variety of construction software (Procore, CMIP, Tradesmens Software, etc.)
